Summer Pascual (she/her) graduated from Western Washington University with her B.S. in Psychology. She was also the 2021 recipient of the WWU Presidential Scholar Award for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences as a testament to her exceptional scholarship and service to the university and community. Her undergraduate research focused on body image interventions, identity, and community-based approaches with underserved populations. Summer is a Master Trainer for the EVERYbody Project and the Body Justice Project, dissonance-based body image interventions for college students and middle school students respectively.
In her postbac position at the Baker Center for Children and Families, a Harvard Medical School Affiliate, Summer worked on numerous implementation research projects related to youth behavioral health and supported applied implementation efforts of evidence-based practices in community mental health agencies. Her broad professional goals are to improve mental health services for underserved youth and families through studying the implementation of evidence-based interventions via community-research partnerships. Summer’s primary research interests are racial/ethnic disparities in youth mental health service use and the implementation of evidence-based practices in community settings.
