Dr. Alejandra Arce

M. Alejandra Arce received her PhD in Clinical and Community Psychology from Georgia State University. She completed her pre-doctoral clinical psychology internship at the UCSF Child and Adolescent Services Multicultural Clinical Training Program (MCTP) at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. Alejandra is currently a postdoctoral scholar working on Project STRIVE (STudents RIsing aboVE). Alejandra utilizes an ecological systems framework to investigate factors within and across levels of the human ecology that may promote or hinder healthy development and resilience among immigrant and BIPOC youth. Her most recent research examines the critical consciousness and civic development of immigrant youth of color in the face of systemic oppression. Alejandra hopes to utilize this research to inform the development of strengths- and community-based prevention interventions that can help ameliorate the disparities that continue to impact immigrant and BIPOC youth.
