Nancy Hernandez graduated from Pomona College with a B.A. in Psychological Science. She currently serves as a research project coordinator for STRIVE (Students Rising AboVE).
Her research interests focus on how social determinants of health, such as discrimination, neighborhood environments, and economic hardship, shape youth and family outcomes by disrupting emotion regulation, contributing to disparities in impulsivity-related outcomes such as substance use and eating disorders. Nancy aspires to pursue a Ph.D. in clinical psychology, with a focus on mental health disorders affecting minority communities
