Dr. Prerna Martin

Prerna Martin received her PhD in Child Clinical Psychology at the University of Washington, Master of Public Health from Boston University, and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Harvard University. She completed her doctoral clinical psychology internship at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience & Human Behavior. She is currently an NIMH T32 Postdoctoral Fellow in the Science of Child Mental Health Interventions and a Sorensen Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow at UCLA. Prerna studies approaches to improving access and implementation of quality mental health services for youth and families in low-resource settings in the U.S. and in low- and middle-income countries. Her research focuses on 1) adapting evidence-based mental health interventions for marginalized, racial/ethnic minority youth, 2) disseminating minimally intensive, low-cost solutions for implementing mental health interventions in community settings (e.g., schools, community mental health centers), and 3) testing implementation strategies for organizations and systems to scale-up and sustain mental health services.
